How does a pop-up museum work?
"A Pop Up Museum is a temporary exhibit created by the people who show up to participate. It works by choosing a theme and venue and then inviting people to bring an object on-topic to share, like a community show-and-tell. Each participant writes a label for his or her object and puts it on display. A Pop Up Museum usually lasts for a few hours on one day, and focuses on bringing people together in conversation through stories, art, and objects" (Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History). The Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History has put together a very extensive tool kit of what and how to use a pop-up museum. Please click here to access the public kit.

Amart Project uses this great tool for creative conversations, and set pop-up museums in multiple communities. We want to see people coming together around the topics posted and setting up their own pop-up museums. Bring your objects, write stories, talk about them, take pictures and send us your pictures and reflections! We want to see an online exhibit of all of these community pop-up museums around the world.
